To accommodate the governor's COVID-19 Stay At Home Order, the Warming Center is attempting to provide daytime and nighttime shelter to current residents. The center is serving 30-35 individuals per night.
Bring items to Carbondale Fire Station 1 or 2. Items needed:
- Paper towels!
- Paper cups, paper plates, paper bowls
- Nonperishable food
- Wash cloths
- Disinfectant wipes, gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, etc.
- Make checks payable to Carbondale Warming Center
- Mail to: Carbondale Warming Center, 608 E. College Street, Carbondale, IL 62901
Keeping the center open more hours in the course of the COVID-19 emergency will require more staffing, and more funds than we could have anticipated, but for the sake of our residents and the public at large we are making an effort to offer our guests a space in which to "stay at home" in compliance with the governor's orders. Financial donations are needed and appreciated at this time. Thank you!
